If you’re lucky enough to spot an otter while you’re out and about, please enjoy watching it from a safe distance.
Otters are wild animals, so please don’t attempt to touch or feed them. Feeding can be harmful to their survival as they may become reliant on food offered by people.
If an otter feels threatened, it may try to defend itself, so please give it plenty of space.
What to do if an otter needs help
If you find an otter in distress or deceased, please contact the Environment Agency on 03708 506 506.
If you find an injured otter, please also contact the RSPCA Rescue Line on 0300 1234 999.
