Extreme Heat Warning – Play Area Safety

With temperatures rising across the Bradford District, we’re reminding everyone to take extra care when visiting children’s play areas in our parks.

Play equipment such as metal slides, swings and safety surfaces can become extremely hot in sunny weather and may cause burns.

Stay safe before you play

Before allowing children to use play equipment, please take a moment to:

  • Check surfaces and equipment to make sure they are not too hot
  • Look for any damaged or unsafe equipment and report it if needed
  • Encourage regular breaks in the shade and ensure children stay well hydrated

A quick safety check can help prevent injuries and ensure everyone can enjoy our parks safely during the warm weather.
