Parks and Green Spaces are proud to be working in partnership with Better Start Bradford to create playful, stimulating and welcoming outdoor spaces for young children and their families. These new and improved play areas are designed to support learning, creativity, wellbeing, and a closer connection with nature and biodiversity.

Our shared aim is simple:
to give every child the chance to play, explore and grow in safe, imaginative and nature-friendly environments.

🌳 Nature‑Inspired Play Equipment and Trails

These playful features encourage children to engage with the natural world around them. From timber structures to sensory trails, each element is designed to spark curiosity and invite exploration.

🎭 Spaces for Imaginative and Active Play

Open, flexible play areas allow children to move freely, invent their own games, and build confidence through active play.

📚 Share Libraries

Community “take a book, leave a book” stations are being added to selected sites.
Families can pick up a book, enjoy reading outdoors together, and donate books for others — helping build a culture of shared learning and literacy.

🤝 Working Together for Local Families

By combining our green‑space expertise with Better Start Bradford’s focus on early childhood development, we’re creating welcoming hubs where families can play, learn, and enjoy the outdoors throughout the year.
