Byelaws
Bradford Council’s Parks and Greenspaces Byelaws aim to safeguard and preserve facilities while ensuring equitable access for the community. These byelaws govern activities within Council-owned shared spaces, covering aspects like noise, animals, and vehicles. Ultimately, fostering a culture of respect towards the environment and fellow users enhances the quality of these shared spaces.
Playable Spaces Strategy
The Local Authority oversees 292 play facilities spread across 163 sites via its Parks and Greenspaces Service. These facilities consist mainly of 150 fixed play equipped areas, skate parks, Multi Use Games Areas (MUGA’s), single goal/ball sports walls, 5-a-side pitch goals, and outdoor fitness trails.
Registered Parks and battlefields
Historic England manages the Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England, which was founded in 1983 and features over 1600 sites. Within the Bradford District, there are 14 such sites listed. The focus of the register is primarily on landscape design rather than botanical significance or planting.
