Community comes together for woodland maintenance at St Ives, Bingley

On Saturday, 16th March, a team of 20 volunteers joined forces to remove tree guards from trees planted in the Betty’s Wood area over five years ago. Within four hours, this dedicated group successfully gathered over 450 tubes and stakes, all prepared for reuse or recycling.

Their collective efforts demonstrate a commitment to environmental conservation and underscore the importance of community engagement in safeguarding this shared space.

Ed Brightman, Assistant Woodlands Manager at Bradford Council, said, “We are grateful to all volunteers who give up their time to help improve and protect the St Ives Estate. Your hard work and commitment demonstrate an appreciation that many in our community share for this landscape.”
