Hot Music for a Sunny Sunday

Wed, 6 Jul 2011

From Mamma Mia to Mary Poppins, Putting on the Ritz to Saturday Night Fever, Bingley-based concert band Hot Aire provided plenty of foot tapping tunes to entertain an appreciative audience last Sunday afternoon (26 June) in the hot sunshine in Cliffe Castle Park.

The event was part of Bradford Council's summer season of free bandstand concerts in Parks around the district. Hot Aire have a unique sound, mixing brass and wind instruments with drums, electric guitars and keyboard, so there certainly was something for everyone. Music from stage shows, films, classics, pop and rock was enthusiastically applauded from all around the bandstand area.

There are 2 more band concerts scheduled in Cliffe Castle Park this summer: Hurricane Blue on Sunday 24 July and the Jolly Jivers on Sunday 28 August (both 2-4 pm). Other events include Keighley’s Aire Do (16/17 July) when members of the Conservation Group will be asking local residents and visitors about their visits to the Park and ideas and suggestions for improvements, as part of the consultation for the second phase of the Heritage Lottery Bid being prepared by Bradford MDC.
